EMS Director Adds Another Certification to Her List of Many

Seminole EMS Director Carly French is constantly working to make the local service the best it can be. As a result, French recently earned her Critical Care Paramedic Certification. The International Board of Speciality Certification (IBSC) Critical Care Paramedic Certification is for experienced paramedical professionals working in critical ground care patient transport.

Looking Ahead to the Seminole 2022-23 Seasons

To finish out July, there will be a series of articles about what we can look forward to in the coming school sports year. With the 2021-22 season reviewed and put to bed, now we can look forward to what our sports teams have before them. While some things have changed in people graduating, old coaches leaving and new coaches coming in and UIL realignment – other things have not changed. There will be plenty of familiar faces coming back – both players and coaches. Some teams will be rebuilding and others will be reloading.

The Texas Education Agency has released the 2022 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness Results for grades 3-8, which showed across-the-board improvements in all grades and subjects, with especially significant gains in reading. “The investments that the state is making in reading academies and accelerated instruction are clearly paying dividends for our students, and the results are a testament to the hard work of teachers across our state,” Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath said.

Biden Shipping Strategic Reserve Oil Out of U.S. Through Hunter Associate Joe Biden recently told us that, in order to bring oil prices down (that he intentionally jacked up), he would release fuel from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve that former President Trump loaded up at a much cheaper price to fulfill what the reserve is for; to have a supply on hand in the event of wars and natural disasters.

Funeral services for Agatha Loewen, age 59 of Seminole were held Monday, July 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Community Church with Pastor Diedrich Harms officiating. Burial followed at Gaines County Cemetery. All services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Paving Work Approved for SISD Parking Lots

With things mostly quiet around the campuses of the Seminole Independent School District, the SISD School Board met Monday evening with only a handful of “housekeeping” items before retiring to a lengthy executive session to address personnel and security issues.

Local High School Student Receives U.S. State Department Scholarship for Exchange Program in Germany

SEAGRAVES – CIEE, a nonprofit study abroad and intercultural exchange organization, is pleased to announce that Mikaela Aguilar, a rising junior at Seagraves High School, is one of 250 American high school students from across the United States to be awarded the prestigious Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) Scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year. CBYX is a bi-lateral exchange program co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and German Bundestag (Parliament).
