Seminole reached another first when Texas Comptroller Glenn Hager distributed more than $764 million in sales tax revenues to cities in July. For the first time since a local-option sales tax went into effect for the city in 1996, July’s allocation crested the $300,000 mark for the second consecutive month. Seminole’s July sales tax receipt of $324,970.49 was the city’s highest since February 2016, when $444,000 was allocated.
