Third COVID-19 Case in Gaines County Confirmed

On Monday, May 4, the South Plains Public Health District confirmed another case of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Gaines County bringing the total to three.

According to a press release from the SPPHD, the individual is currently hospitalized outside of Gaines County and, at this time, the source of the exposure is unknown. The District will continue monitoring individuals as indicated by the CDC and the District’s disease surveillance team will continue working diligently to ensure the public remains at a low risk of contracting COVID-19.

The South Plains Public Health District and their health care partners will continue to monitor COVID-19 in the Seminole area to prepare for the possibility of more local cases. They ask that residents continue to follow proper hygiene recommendations and social distancing practices.
