Rose (Bennett) Padilla

Funeral services for Rose (Bennett) Padilla were at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 12, at Full Gospel Church with Pastor Benny Greenlee officiating.

Rosemary died August 14, 2021, in Hobbs, N.M. She was born July 19, 1949 in Tallulah, LA. to Lamond and Hazel Bennett.

Rosemary was one of a kind, she loved life and all living things but if you got on her bad side, she would sure let you know how it is. She loved her cats and a person who loved her wrestling and her Dallas Cowboys. She was a determined woman who was willing to do anything to get her own car, even learn to drive at a late age just to get her license and a brand-new car that was promised to her by her husband Gilbert. To do so she would drive in an empty pasture for hours at a time until she felt comfortable enough to take the test to earn herself the new car.

Rosemary is survived by her husband Gilbert Padilla of New Mexico; brothers Johnny McLemore of New Mexico, Eddie Bennett of Texas, Donnie Bennett and his wife Debbie Bennett of Texas; sisters Jean Driver of New Mexico, Louise Driver of Missouri; son and wife Mike and Carmon Padilla, son Mario Padilla, son Mark Padilla, son Johnny Padilla. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents Lemond and Hazel Bennett of Texas; brother Calvin Bennett of Texas and sisters Dorothy Harris of Louisiana and Bobbie Joe Fitzgerald of Texas.

Arrangements were with Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, Hobbs, N.M. Condolences may be made online at www.chapelofhopefunerals.com. Memorial contributions may be made to breast cancer awareness or the humane society.
