Graveside services for Mary May Johnson, age 95 of Ft. Worth, and formerly of Seminole, were held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Gaines County Cemetery with Pastor James Washburn officiating. All services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.

Mrs. Johnson was born November 3, 1923 to Effie (Hagins) and Albert Brandon. She later married Andrew Walter Johnson. Mary Mae Johnson raised four children by herself and was an extremely hard working woman; she bailed hay, drove a combine, worked in the fields, and even worked in several restaurants in Seminole. She built two room additions on her home with her own bare hands. In her spare time Mary enjoyed playing softball and was even on a softball team in Seminole. She also liked to fish and just be outdoors. In her later years she enjoyed quilting, scrapbooking, playing dominos, and card games; she was always up for a challenge. One could say she was a very competitive woman.

Mary Mae Johnson passed away February 1, 2019 at Fort Worth Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Ft. Worth. She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Walter Johnson in 1964; one son, John H. Johnson; one daughter, Diann Ryan; two brothers, Roy Brandon and Wilbur Brandon; and two sisters, Bernice Wilburn and Wanda Vest.

She is survived by one son, Walter Johnson and wife Wanda of Seminole; one daughter, Othel Murphree of Ft. Worth; one brother, James (Bud) Brandon of Boyd; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
