Marcus Jacob Hernandez

Marcus Jacob Hernandez, 22, of Seminole passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, in Seminole. He was born May 9, 1999, in Andrews to John Edward Hernandez and Trishia Hernandez “Lopez”. Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2021, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment followed in the Andrews North Cemetery. Pallbearers included Jonathan Hernandez, Noah Hernandez, Tristian Cornett, Cris Gonzalez, Timothy Ray Ruiz, Joe Hernandez, Toby Berryhill, and Chris Cornett. Honorary Pallbearers included: Niana Hernandez, Ian Berryhill, Eli Berryhill, Jaelyn Hernandez, and Daycia Cornett.

Marcus was known to his family and friends as “Gordo”. He graduated Andrews High School in 2017. While in high school he ran track and cross country and excelled in those sports. He enjoyed playing his Xbox and watching the Philadelphia Eagles play football. He also loved to golf and to shoot his guns. Gordo loved to be around his friends and family every chance he could. He was also a handyman and liked doing DIY’s around the house. He had a big heart and loved his little sister completely. He was an amazing son, brother, and friend. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Maria DeLuna Duran and uncle Ernest Lopez.

Gordo is survived by his wife Reighna Cornett of Seminole; parents John and Trishia Hernandez of Andrews; maternal grandparents Ernest and Gloria Lopez of Andrews; brothers Jonathan Hernandez and Noah Hernandez both of Andrews; sister Niana Hernandez of Andrews; niece Jaelyn Hernandez of Andrews and his dog Paco.
