Letter to the Editor: 'show support for our fine doctors.."

Reader Submission

Dear Editor,

I am writing due to my concerns over the changes that are causing our established medical doctors and nurses to leave Seminole. My husband and I attended the last hospital board meeting, as did some other community members.

After the meeting, we learned that our doctor, Lance Martin, will be leaving Seminole. This causes a true hardship for us. We have been seen by two or three others locally, yet, Dr. Martin is the one who has invested in our health.  He always takes time to listen and answer our questions. As senior citizens, we need a doctor who does not rush in and out because we cannot always process information quickly. Also, we find that traveling to Lubbock for appointments is stressful and expensive.

I want to encourage everyone to attend the hospital board meetings or to write letters to board members to show support for our fine doctors, nurses and other medical staff members. If we don’t, we may not have any of our trusted doctors like Doctor Martin, in Seminole.
