Leroy W. Van Winkle

Funeral services for Leroy W. Van Winkle, 92, of Heber Springs, Arkansas formerly of Seminole will be conducted Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Joe Lapusan officiating. Interment follow in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. He passed away on Monday, April 2 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Leroy was born January 8, 1927 in McClain County, Oklahoma to John C. and Julia Ann Van Winkle. Leroy married Betty Louise Donaghe. He served in the United States Navy from 1945-1946. The family lived in Seminole from 1964 to 1977, he was employed by the Columbian Carbon Black Plant from 1950 to 1977. In 1977 they moved to Tyler and he was employed by Kelly Springfield Tire Company until 1992, at that time he retired and moved back to Seminole in 1996. In 2018 he moved to Heber Springs, Arkansas to be near family.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother Alice Van Winkle Lovingood; his wife Louise Van Winkle; two sisters Thelma Van Winkle and Jewel Gross.

Leroy is survived by his daughter Brenda L. Carroll and husband Bill of Spring; his son Teddy L. Van Winkle and wife Debbie of Heber Springs, Arkansas; a sister Iola Ruth Howard of Noble, Oklahoma; along with six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
