Funeral services for Helena Friesen, age 59 of Seminole were held Monday, May 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Seminole Community Center with Elder David Koren officiating and Elder Ben Benson assisting. Burial followed at Gaines County Cemetery. All services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Friesen was born August 31, 1962 in Mexico to Maria (Klassen) and Peter Reimer. She married Peter Friesen in Mexico on July 26, 1981. They moved to Oklahoma in February 1987 and in 1988 they moved to Tarzan. In 1996 they settled in Seminole and made their life here. She was a Jehovah’s Witness and a homemaker. She loved working outside and adored her children and grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than having all her children and grandchildren at home sharing a meal together and reading the Bible.

Helena Friesen ended her fight and finished the race with deep abiding faith on Friday, May 13, 2022 at her home in Seminole after ending a fouryear battle with cancer.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

She is survived by her husband, Peter Friesen of Seminole; four sons, William Friesen and wife Lena, Corni Friesen and wife Susie, Franz Friesen and wife Tina, and Henry Friesen and wife Nancy, all of Seminole; one daughter, Eva Friesen of Seminole; four brothers, Cornelius Reimer and wife Anna, Peter Reimer and wife Lisa, Frank Reimer and wife Lee Ann of Seminole, and John Reimer and wife Margie of Canada; five sisters, Lisa Enns, and Maria Schmitt and husband Abraham, both of Mexico, Greta Rempel and husband Wilhelm, and Anna Friesen and husband Henry, both of Seminole, and Tina Wiebe and husband Henry of Tarzan and 20 grandchildren.
