Helen “Bernice” Freeman Crow

Funeral services for Helen “Bernice” Freeman Crow were held Monday, January 7, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Joe Lapason officiating. Interment followed in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.

Bernice was born November 15, 1925 in Ralls and passed from this earth January 4, 2019 at 93 years old at Memorial Hospital in Seminole with an abundance of family by her side.

Bernice was born to the late Martin and Alice Freeman in Ralls. She moved to California at the age of 16 to weld cargo ships in WWII. She married the late Garland Green January 25, 1941 and had three children. On May 19, 1957 she married Horace Crow and had four children.

She was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Alice Freeman, one sister Geraldine Payne, two brothers J.W. and Jesse Freeman, one daughter Janice Kay Cave, and one great-grandson Braden Joplin.

Bernice is survived by six children Janette Huddleston of Snyder, Martin and Rosene of Justiceburg, Sherry Howard of Snyder, Bobby Gale and Jimmy Wood of Seminole, Robert Dale Crow of Phoenix, Arizona, and Benny and Cathy Crow of Seagraves, along with 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater West Texas Chapter, 4400 North Big Spring # C-32, Midland, Texas 79705.
