Graveside services for Enrique ‘Henry’ Rangel, age 90 of Seagraves were held Monday, January 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Seagraves Cemetery with Father Jose de Dios Gonzalez officiating. All services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.

Mr. Rangel was born July 14, 1930 in Laredo to Manuela (Perez) and Ascencio Rangel. He was married to Maria Esperanza on April 4, 1948; she preceded him in death in 2008. He had been a resident of Seagraves for 40 years, moving from Michigan, and was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church. He served as a deacon at St. Paul’s and was a good singer; he was also a member of De Colores. He had worked for Gaines County in county maintenance. He was a godfather to many, and had enjoyed living with his godson and goddaughter in Seminole the last two years of his life. He had a special affinity for anything sweet.

Henry Rangel passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Seminole.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, and one sister.

He is survived by one son, Jorge Rangel of Seminole; his godson and goddaughter, Ruben and Nancy Gonzales; one brother, Guadalupe Lopez of Killeen, and two sisters, Antonia Gamboa of Plainview and Ernestina Lopez of Laredo.
