COVID-19: 4 more case in County

Cases #10-#13 of COVID-19 in Gaines County were confirmed on June 11 and June 12 by the South Plains Public Health District.

According to Executive Director Zach Holbrooks, the source of exposure in case #10 is unknown at this time and investigation is ongoing. Cases #11-#13 were confirmed in the Seagraves area and the source of exposure for these three cases are believed to be from contact with a known case.

SPPHD will continue monitoring individuals as indicated by the CDC. The District’s disease surveillance team will also continue working diligently to ensure the public remains at the low risk of contracting COVID-19.

The South Plains Public Health District and their health care partners will continue to monitor COVID-19 in the Seminole area to prepare for the possibility of more local cases. The SPPHD reminds area residents to please continue to follow proper hygiene recommendations and social distancing practices.
