16th COVID-19 Case in Gaines County

The 16th case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Gaines County on June 28, reports South Plains Public Health District Executive Director Zach Holbrooks. According to Holbrooks, the source of exposure is unknown and currently under investigation.
In a recent interview with the Seminole Sentinel, the director said that additional cases would likely arise due to social gatherings and relaxation of precautions such as gloves, masks, social distancing, and handwashing.
The South Plains Public Health District will continue monitoring individuals, as indicated by the CDC.
