was never cheerleader material. I am extremely uncoordinated and gymnastics was not my forte. I was a booster in junior high school, but all I had to do was wave my hands, repeat whatever the captain said, and wear cute two-toned saddle oxfords. I was a much better Girl Scout. Sports wasn’t my cup of tea either, but telling scary stories around a campfi re, walking in the woods with a group of silly girls, and making crafts was right up my alley. Even though I did not realize it at the time, it was often more than just hanging with my peers and roasting marshmallows.
