After yammering on for months about “peaceful protesters”, despite the literally billions of dollars of losses to cities and communities across the country, and more than a little human suffering, the Democrats and the media have finally begun to acknowledge that there is indeed violence in America’s major cities.
AUSTIN – Labor Day weekend is approaching and Texans around the state are making plans to take advantage of extra time on the waterways. Compared to this time last year, incidents on the water are up 55 percent while boating injuries having increased 68 percent. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is reminding everyone to be safe this holiday weekend by following basic boating safety precautions and public health guidelines while on the water.
Sometimes you have to hit pause and enjoy the simple things in life. That was the case Friday afternoon when we boarded the dogs, threw a few things in a suitcase, and hit the road towards Big Bend National Park. Little did we know it would be just what we needed, and more.
Last night a new round of rioting and looting in Minneapolis began after what these Antifa/BLM thugs assumed was another police shooting. Under pressure, police later had to release a video proving that the suspect actually committed suicide.
But that mattered little to the rioters. It isn't about "racial justice".
Imagine it's an election day, and you're contemplating whether you should even bother getting out of the house and driving to the polls. After all, what's the use? There is no one on the ballot that you trust or respect, neither nationally nor locally.
As I have written repeatedly, I miss being close to my family, treasured friends, authentic shrimp po’boys, muffalettas, gumbo, and a smorgasbord of top-knots musicians in South Louisiana. But hurricanes? Not so much.
