Clellen Jahart Anderson, Jr.

Clellen Jahart Anderson, Jr. was born on February 10, 1937 to Clellen Jahart Anderson and Hazel Hill Anderson in Austin. He was the oldest of two sons. Clellen was known to all as CJ. He graduated from Austin High School, attended classes at University of Texas and then acquired an engineering job at IBM. He met the love of his life, Sandra O’Brien, at church, asked her out on a waterskiing date and married her in 1957.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Jake Banman

Graveside services for Jake Banman, age 36 of Seminole were held Monday, December 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Gaines County Cemetery with Abraham Banman officiating. Burial followed at Gaines County Cemetery. All services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mr. Banman was born in Lamesa on December 13, 1985 to Margaret (Martens) and Heinrich Banman. He worked as a machinist at B&M Pump and Irrigation. Jake was an inventor and enjoyed working with his hands; he also enjoyed fishing and barbecuing with his family.

Betty Geraldine (Jerry) Tarbet

Betty Geraldine (Jerry) Tarbet, 90, of Lubbock, went to meet Jesus on Friday morning, December 24, 2021. She was born on April 8, 1931, near Ackerly, Dawson County to the late Frank C. Hogg and Zora (Wood) Hogg.

Jerry grew up in the Key Community and enjoyed playing basketball for the Lamesa Tornados, graduating from there in 1949. She met the love of her life, Joe Tarbet, at the insurance office where she was employed. They were married on December 18, 1952, on her parent’s anniversary. Joe preceded her in death on April 10, 2019.
