Jimmy D. “Jim” Ivy was born July 1, 1934 to Luther and Flora Ivy in Memphis and passed from this life on January 9, 2019 in Hobbs, NM. He was the third of four children. Jimmy graduated from Seminole High School and later attended Western New Mexico University on a football scholarship. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Billy June Ivy; siblings: John Ivy, Bobby Ivy, Mary Jo “Jerry” Baker and her husband E.B. Baker; son, Terry Ivy and grandson, Aaron “Brit” Arther.

Funeral services for Helen “Bernice” Freeman Crow were held Monday, January 7, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Joe Lapason officiating. Interment followed in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.

Bernice was born November 15, 1925 in Ralls and passed from this earth January 4, 2019 at 93 years old at Memorial Hospital in Seminole with an abundance of family by her side.

Memorial services for Fermin Valencia, Jr. age 73 of Denver City will be held at a later time in Santa Fe, New Mexico. All services are under the direction of Boyer Memorial Chapel of Denver City in association with Boyer Funeral Home in Seminole.

Memorial services for John William “Johnny” Farmer, Jr. of Hobbs, NM will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Lovington Youth Center

in Lovington, NM at 2:00 p.m. MST.

Johnny was born to John W. Farmer Sr. and Myrt Bouse Farmer on May 30, 1949 in Oklahoma City, OK. He moved to Seminole in October 1954 where he attended school, graduating from Seminole High School in May 1967. He attended South Plains College where he graduated in 1971. He passed away on Monday, December 3 at the age of 69, after a short bout with cancer.

Memorial services for Tammy Renee Howard, 60, of Seminole were held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. She passed away Wednesday, December 26 in Denver City.

Tammy was born August 30, 1958 in Winnsboro to Charlie Albert, Sr. and Sybil Le Beaux Martin. She was a homemaker. Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and two brothers.

Funeral services for Peter Klassen, age 59 of Seminole were held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Reinlander Mennonite Church with Bishop John Loewen officiating. Burial followed at Gaines County Cemetery. All services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mr. Klassen was born in Mexico, March 9, 1959 to Elizabeth (Quiring) and Abraham Klassen. He married Helen (Wieler) in Mexico on July 3, 1979. He was a member of Reinlander Mennonite Church.

Burial followed at Gaines County Cemetery. All services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.
