Governor Abbott announced his plans on the gradual re-opening of Texas. However, it was ordered that all Texas public school facilities remain closed for the remainder of this school year. Seminole ISD will continue to provide distance learning so that students may receive credits to allow for graduation and promotion. Please ensure that your children stay engaged and make the most of this educational requirement. Curb-side meal services to our students will continue as well. I firmly believe the continuity of education for our students is imperative. I applaud the efforts of our staff for how quickly they made the adjustment to distance learning. With your help, we are providing innovative learning opportunities for our students. Our schools are very fortunate to have resources in place to provide effective distance learning for our students. We are looking at alternative ideas for graduation. Seminole High School Principal, Mr. Robert Chappell, has communicated with Senior Class Officers and staff to generate alternative plans. More information regarding special events AMBK-947 UIL Sports Spons will be communicated at a later date. Please know that we love our seniors and want to give them all the recognition and special memories they deserve. In addition, Dr. Charles Breithaupt, UIL Executive Director, has released the statement, “UIL is canceling all remaining 2019-2020 spring activities and state championships.” Our heart goes out to all of our students who represent SISD with excellence.
