Hospital Becomes WGU Affiliate

The board of directors for the Seminole Hospital District held a brief scheduled meeting Monday in the hospital boardroom. Most notably, during her management update, Chief Clinical Operations Officer Maegen Garner told the board that the hospital had agreed to become an affiliate with the Utah-based Western Governor's University as a primary clinical site for online training.

New Officers Introduced at Seminole City Council meeting

At Monday night's regular meeting, Seminole City Council members welcomed three new Seminole Police Department officers. Presented to the council by Chief Bernie Kraft were Edwin U. Avila, age 21, from Hobbs, NM; 25-year-old Stefany Moriel of Seminole and Manuel Escamilla, age 24, of Phoenix, AZ.

Chamber pulls out all the stops for Freedom Fest ‘22

Nearly 1,300 Area Volunteers Come Through For Worldwide Non-profit

Nearly 1,300 Gaines County residents participated this past weekend in the “Feed My Starving Children” program held at the Seminole Community Center. According to local organizer Herman Koethler, the turnout was absolutely amazing. “Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization that feeds or packs meals for kids worldwide.”

DPS to Initiate Intoxicated Driving Mobilization

Midland / Odessa - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will be increasing the number of Texas Highway Patrol (THP) Troopers on the road from Thursday, June 24th, through Sunday, July 10th, as part of the Intoxicated Driving Mobilization (IDM) - Specific Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP). DPS Troopers will be on the roads looking for drivers who are speeding, driving while intoxicated or not wearing their seat belts. The goal of the IDM STEP program is to reduce the number of DWI-related crashes, injuries and fatalities.
