Ag Tour Scheduled for Aug. 29th in Seminole

The Gaines County Ag Tour will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Gaines County Civic Building located at 402 N. W. 5th St., according to officials with the Gaines County office of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and depart for area peanut and cotton fields at 8:30 a.m.
The tour will head west of Seminole with stops at cotton and peanut research plots. A lunch will be served at 12 p.m.
Individuals with pesticide applicators licenses will be awarded one (1) IPM and two (2) general Continuing Education Units (CEUís) for attending this program.
Dr. Jason Woodward, Plant Pathologist, with Texas A & M AgriLife Extension Service will be on hand to discuss cotton and peanut disease management. Dr. Mark Kelley, Extension Agronomist, will discuss late season cotton production issues, cotton variety trials as well as harvest aid chemicals, and Dr. Peter Dotray, with Texas A & M AgriLife Extension Service, will discuss weed management and weed resistance. Seed company representatives will also be available to answer any questions.
