R. Hilbern Briscoe

Memorial services for R. Hilbern Briscoe, 72, of Seminole will be conducted on Monday, June 10th at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marvin Gregory officiating. Services will be under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home. Mr. Briscoe passed away on June 6, 2013 in Lubbock.
Hilbern was born on April 21, 1941 in Brownfield to Harold Thomas and Odessa Speed Briscoe. He married Nancy Toland on December 29, 1964 in Taft. Hilbern received his Bachelor Degree in Agriculture Science from Texas Tech University in 1964. He and his wife Nancy moved to Gaines County in 1965 and he farmed for many years. Hilbern was a school board trustee for many years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he served on the Trustees and Finance Committees. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Odessa Briscoe and one brother, Thomas LaVoy Briscoe.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Briscoe of Seminole; two sons, Dale Briscoe and wife Betsy of Seminole and Micah Briscoe and wife Angel of San Angelo; one daughter, Melissa Heinrich and husband Paul of Richmond; five grandchildren, Kyra Briscoe, Mason Briscoe, Collin Heinrich, Jared Heinrich and Nicole Heinrich.
There will be a family visitation time to receive friends on Sunday, June 9 from 5-9 p.m. at Ratliff Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund at 304 SW Ave B, Seminole, Texas 79360.
