Funeral services for Iva Eldiess Jordan Stevenson Freeman, age 90 of Seminole will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at M.S. Doss Chapel with Jase Waller officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Freeman passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at Seminole Memorial Hospital following an illness. She was an only child, born March 9, 1922 in Lampasas to Lillie Jewel (Lee) and Chester Allen Jordan. She had been a Seminole resident since 1946 when she moved from Loop.
Mrs. Freeman married Alton O’Neal Stevenson on January 9, 1939; he preceded her in death in 1984. She then married Willard Freeman in September 1989; he preceded her in death in 1999.
Mrs. Freeman enjoyed quilting, crochet, jigsaw puzzles and birds. She was a very social person and loved everyone. She never had a negative thought about anyone and enjoyed teasing people. She was also a very accomplished welder. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and had worked as a Pink Lady for five years.
Iva Stevenson Freeman is also preceded in death by one grandson, Gregory Neal Stevenson, in 2011.
She is survived by: two sons, Richard Allen Stevenson and wife Joyce of Seminole and Curtis Leon Stevenson and wife Sherry of Seminole; one daughter, Reba Clorese Marchbanks and husband Ira of Georgetown; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
