Jerry De Verl Norman

Memorial services for Jerry De Verl Norman, age 71 of Seminole were held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. at M.S. Doss Chapel with Michelle Powers officiating.   All services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.  Family visitation was held at Boyer Funeral Home on Thursday, December 27 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Southwest Super Chargers (www.southwestsuperchargers.com).
Mr. Norman passed away December 23, 2012 at Brownfield Regional Hospital in Brownfield.  He was born April 15, 1941 to Mildred (Baxter) and Willie De Verl Norman in Ada, Oklahoma.  He married Jowana Earl February 28, 1975 in Seminole.
Jerry Norman was a Baptist and served as a city councilman in Seminole from 1992 to 1993. He was a charter member of the Seminole Optimist Club and served as president of the Seminole Athletic Booster Club during the 1980s. He raced cars for many years and worked as a mechanic.  Jerry enjoyed drawing, paining and watching football. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly.  He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Jerry Norman is survived by his wife, Jowana Norman of Seminole; two sons, Jhett Norman and wife Becca of Levelland and James Norman of Dallas; three daughters, Sonnett Landy and husband Adam of Seminole; Myshel Gardener of Odessa and Shari Riddle of Dallas; one brother, Bill Norman of Odessa; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
