Gaines Gins Near 100,000 Mark in 2012 Cotton Harvest

Gaines County's 2012 cotton bale count closes in on the 100,000 mark, in the Seminole Sentinel's first gin polling conducted Monday morning.

As of 9:45 a.m. Monday, all eight Gaines County gins were in full operation, and reported a total count of 96,969.

Broken down, the individual gin counts are as follows:

Five Points -- 5,476

Four Way -- 6,952

Tri-County Producers -- 9,404

Oasis -- 44,424

Ocho -- 14,667

Pioneer -- 4315

Ten-Hi -- 4,200

Seminole Service -- 7,531.
