Funeral services for Lonnie White, age 72 of Seminole were held at West Side Church of Christ on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. with Raymond Glendenning officiating.  Leo Copeland and John Goen assisted.  Burial followed at Gaines County Cemetery and all services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mr. White passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born April 18, 1940 in Bennington, Oklahoma, the son of Sarah (Williams) and Cleveland White.  He had been a Seminole resident for the past 55 years.
Mr. White was employed as a custodian for Seminole ISD for 24 years, but was a true cowboy, who had a special place in his heart for his roosters.  He was a hard worker with a big heart, and he loved his family dearly.
Lonnie White is preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Jennifer in 1990; and one grandson, Bradley in 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Ylovia White of Seminole; four daughters, Mika Ryan and husband Tom of Canada, Karla Russo and husband Sam of Vermont, Debbie Gressett and husband Bobby of Seminole and Amy White of Alpine; two brothers, Nathan White and wife Laverne of Durant, Oklahoma, Larry White and wife Naomi of Bennington, Oklahoma; one sister, Bonnie White of Tyler; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
