DPS Troopers Release Details of Oct. 6 Fatal Wreck

Investigators of an Oct. 6 fatal accident released their preliminary findings into the cause of the accident.


According to Texas Dept. of Public Safety officials, 37-year-old Seminole resident Clayton Beccue was struck by an oncoming pick-up truck pulling a 26-foot gooseneck trailer, after Beccue had over-corrected his vehicle.


DPS officials investigating the accident said Beccue was traveling eastbound on U.S. 180 near the intersection of S.E. Ave. G, when he exited the south side of the roadway. Beccue, according to the investigation, attempted to enter back onto the roadway, but over-corrected and entered into the westbound lane of traffic, where he was struck by the oncoming pick-up.


The driver of the other vehicle was not identified by DPS officials.


Beccue, according to investigators, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.


Beccue, who is survived by his wife, one daughter, one son, and his parents, was laid to rest Thursday afternoon. He was was employed by Wal-Mart as an overnight stocker in ICS and was a former U.S. Navy serviceman.
