ANDREWS -- A 29-year-old Odessa man was pronounced dead at the scene of a one-vehicle accident Friday morning 16 miles southeast of Seminole, just inside the Andrews County line.

According to preliminary information from the Texas Dept. of Public Safety, Aaron Lee Michael Shorter, 29, of Odessa was traveling along Farm to Market Rd. 1788, when he failed to negotiate a curve along the roadway in his 2012 Chrysler 200. 

The vehicle, according to a DPS trooper's investigation, left the roadway and struck a barbed wire fence. The vehicle continued through a mesquite pasture and began to roll, coming to rest on its top.

Shorter, according to accident reports, was pronounced dead at 8:20 a.m. by Andrews County Justice of the Peace Jane Baeza. 
Shorter, according to an accident investigation, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Funeral services for Shorter will be held Wednesday morning in Pecos. 

He is survived by his mother, one sister, one grand mother, one aunt, one uncle, several cousins and his fiance, Jackie Adams and her three children, all of Seminole.
