SAN ANGELO -- A Seminole High School senior basketball player was recently selected to participate in the first annual Best Texas Tees Concho Valley Basketball Classic.

According to sources, SHS' Blue Franklin was selected to the event, whicn will be held at this coming Sunday (April 13), at the Junelle Center-Stephens Arena, located on the campus of Angelo State University.

Franklin will participate in the 3A-5A all-star game, which will be held at 3 p.m., shortly following the 1A-2A game.

"This prestigious event is one of the first of its kind in West Texas Basketball History," said a press release issued to the Seminole Sentinel.

Franklin helped lead the 2014 Indians to a 15-13 overall record and a Class 3A Bi-District Playoff Championship win in his senior season, and was a member of the 2012-13 Indian varsity basketball squad which posted a 26-9 overall record and an 2013 Class 3A Area Championship title.

In the 2014 offseason, Franklin was named as a second team member of the District 2-3A All-District squad.

Through the course of the 2013-2014 season, Franklin averaged 7.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game for the Indians, according to team statistics.
